What if your students could help solve real-world food packaging and waste challenges? Join us to explore CSIRO's Food Packaging and Waste resources and hear from a CSIRO scientist working on innovative ways to reduce waste and give used plastics a second life.

Designed for Years 5-8 STEM educators, this free one-hour webinar will provide classroom-ready ideas, meaningful STEM connections and inspiration for student investigations. You'll leave with practical resources, fresh examples of science in action and new ways to engage students with one of today's biggest sustainability challenges.

During the webinar, you'll:

  • explore the classroom resources and inquiry approach
  • understand links to the Australian Curriculum and STEM capabilities
  • identify opportunities for classroom implementation
  • connect learning activities to authentic industry and research examples.

These resources are part of the Investigate and Innovate with CSIRO Education series, which connects learning with real CSIRO research.

Designed to support explicit teaching while progressively building students' inquiry skills, the resources encourage scientific and creative thinking, while developing environmental awareness through learning.
