CSIRO invites you to an information session for the STEM Community Partnerships Program (STEM CPP), which is part of the Generation STEM. This session will help you plan your school’s participation in 2026. 2026 will be the eighth year STEM CPP in NSW.

During the session, you will have the opportunity to hear about STEM CPP, benefits of participation and the school support on offer. Join us to discover how your school can get involved and make the most of the program in 2026.

Who should attend?

We encourage Principals, STEM head teachers, careers advisors and teachers of all STEM related subjects to attend the session to learn about how their school can benefit from this exciting initiative.

Program information

The STEM CPP aims to highlight local STEM careers and opportunities while providing avenues for students to develop their STEM skills in an engaging and rewarding way. Collaboration with local Councils, industry and the wider community ensure students can connect with STEM in a real-world, locally relevant way.

This program is very flexible in its delivery and can be delivered as part of any Stage 4 or 5 STEM related subject. A key element of the program provides students with an opportunity to engage in STEM focused projects to address challenges faced by their local community. Other elements include:

  • Funded excursions
  • Career events
  • Student workbooks and resources for teachers
  • Teacher Professional Learning
  • Connections with STEM industry and mentorship opportunities
  • Free access to other CSIRO education programs

These opportunities will expose students to a range of different STEM opportunities and education pathways that lead to exciting local STEM careers.

Benefits of participating

Based on 2019-2022 Generation STEM evaluation report findings:

  • Higher levels of youth engagement in solving community challenges and engaging with the Council on those issues;
  • 97% of teachers reported an increase in STEM education awareness;
  • Enhanced connections between local schools, local Industry and the broader STEM networks;
  • Heightened awareness of local STEM career pathways and opportunities; and
  • No cost to the school to participate.

Next steps

  • Attend a virtual information session to find out more (Meeting link provided upon registration) or we can set up a virtual chat at a time convenient for your teachers
  • If your school is interested in participating for 2026, then we ask your principal to sign a commitment letter
  • Upon receival of the commitment letter, we then invite participating teachers to attend a teacher workshop.

Further details about program requirements will be presented at the information session so please come along to find out more.
