This symposium will explore the potential for radical changes in farming system design and management to respond to combined shifts in agricultural technology, climate and policy settings. The scientific advances needed to support future farming systems and bridge the gap between drivers of increasingly large-scale farming operations and traditional research methods will be considered. This includes emerging sensor/space technologies, the role of AI, and automated on-farm experimentation. The Symposium will host a mix of CSIRO/non-CSIRO researchers and industry representatives and run as part of CSIRO’s “Ag2050” initiative https://research.csiro.au/ag2050/
