Education and Outreach February 2016
Right now you’re probably getting organised for the new school year and planning your lessons for the term. CSIRO runs a range of education programs aligned with the Australian Curriculum designed to help you deliver inquiry-based STEM education and help your students excel. We have lots of resources and activities to give you a head start.
We’ve recently updated our free resources for primary on the science behind sustainability as part of our Sustainable Futures program.
Updated resources will be available soon for schools registered for the CREST awards program. Register your class and we’ll send you support materials and ideas to encourage and reward students for their science projects.
Start thinking about entering the BHP Billiton Science and Engineering Awards for your students, or yourself in our teacher category.
Boost your skills in delivering inquiry-based science lessons with our Inquire to Discover program. A pilot program is running in Victoria and we’re seeking expressions of interest from schools in other states and territories.
Sign up to our Scientists and Mathematicians in Schools program to bring real STEM to the classroom.
Thinking about setting up an ICT program or need some advice on how to introduce coding to the classroom? Partner with an industry expert to assist you through our ICT in schools program.
Take part in Astronomy from the Ground Up teacher professional development program designed to support you in teaching your students about the wonders of the Universe.
Run the Bebras Australia Computational Thinking Challenge with your class in 2016 to encourage computational thinking with easy-to-follow questions and activities.
Enter your students in the Young ICT Explorers Competition which enables them to apply what they learn in the classroom to create a technology related project of their choice.
