Event date and time

Wednesday 28 Oct 2026
10.00am to 2.30pm AEDT

Location

Stone & Chalk
477 Pitt Street, Haymarket, Sydney NSW

Quantum computing is moving from theory to application, and the organisations that engage early will be best positioned to shape where it delivers real value. Quantum Machine Learning (QML) is emerging as a promising new approach for tackling complex data challenges, but the key question for financial institutions is not whether the technology is exciting, but where it can create measurable business impact.

Join CSIRO, Archer Materials, and Stone & Chalk for an interactive workshop that brings together leaders in cybersecurity, fraud, risk, innovation and emerging technologies to explore potential quantum use cases in financial services. More importantly, this is an opportunity to influence the direction of future research, pilot programs and industry collaborations. We are seeking direct input from industry on the challenges that matter most, the barriers that need to be addressed, and where new approaches could deliver tangible outcomes. Attendees will gain early insight into the latest CSIRO-Archer work in QML, contribute to discussions on future industry applications, and help identify opportunities for practical pilot projects. If your organisation wants a voice in shaping the next generation of quantum-enabled solutions for financial services, this is a conversation you won't want to miss.

Places are limited and attendance will be based on an expression of interest process. Our goal is to bring together a small group of stakeholders who can contribute meaningfully to the discussion and help shape future directions, pilot opportunities and industry collaboration in this area. We encourage you to register your interest if you would like to be part of this conversation. Successful applicants will be notified following the review process.

More information

CSIRO's Quantum Systems team is recognised internationally for its pioneering research in quantum machine learning, including advances in quantum adversarial machine learning, robust model design, efficient quantum data encoding and methods. In collaboration with Archer Materials, the organisations have been exploring practical applications of QML for financial fraud detection, including forged signature identification and credit card fraud analysis. Their work has focused on developing and benchmarking advanced QML architectures, evaluating their performance against classical approaches, and building the foundations for future real-world pilots that could ultimately support secure, autonomous and scalable fraud detection solutions for the financial services sector.
