ANSIS Training: Accessing soil data using the ANSIS portal

Have you heard about the Australian National Soil Information System (ANSIS), but are not sure what it is or how to use it?

ANSIS provides access to standardised soil data and information from multiple organisations across Australia to support improved sustainable soil management. ANSIS is the new place to find nationally consistent, useable soil data and information.

Join the ANSIS team for a series of 1-hour online training sessions to help you better understand the range of ANSIS tools and help you get the soil data that you need. Each training session will cover a different aspect of ANSIS.

The ANSIS training is free, however, registration is essential.

Accessing soil data using the ANSIS portal

This training session will take you through the basics of searching and accessing soil data using the ANSIS portal (portal.ansis.net). This training is at an introductory level and is for anyone wanting to access soil site and analytical data through ANSIS.

By the end of this training, you will know how to sign in and manage your account, search to find your data of interest, read site meta-data to see what soil properties are available, create a readable report for a soil site, explore the map layers function to provide spatial context to site data, set options for data delivery using the Spatial Data Repository, download soil data in the ANSIS JSON format, and explore soil data using the ANSIS viewer.
