Max Temminghoff

Max Temminghoff, Associate Director, CSIRO Futures

Max is an Associate Director in the CSIRO Futures team with extensive experience working closely with researchers and industry leaders in the energy and aviation sectors to understand emerging technologies and develop strategies to encourage their uptake.

Max is the lead author of the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Roadmap, and has managed aviation fuel analysis for government clientele, and has led analysis for the Opportunities for hydrogen in commercial aviation and National Hydrogen Roadmap reports.

Kimberly Camrass

Dr Kimberly Camrass, Regional Sustainability Lead – Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific, Global Sustainability Engagement and Partnerships, Boeing

Dr Kimberly Camrass is a sustainability professional with a PhD in Regenerative Futures. In her current role as Regional Sustainability Lead at Boeing, Kimberly drives efforts to decarbonise aviation across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. Kimberly is Boeing’s representative on the Federal Government’s Jet Zero Council and is also driving aviation sustainability through partnerships with industry, State Governments and the research sector.

Kimberly is an Adjunct Fellow at the University of the Sunshine Coast and is engaged in strategic foresight and futures work globally to drive innovative thinking around regeneration and sustainability. She is a published author, with works covering a range of themes, including futures studies, regeneration, sustainability and leadership.

 Flyn van Ewijk

Flyn van Ewijk, Regional Director, Asia Pacific, LanzaJet

Flyn van Ewijk is Regional Director, Asia Pacific for LanzaJet where he is responsible for the planning, development and execution of the company’s strategic objectives and sustainable aviation fuel projects across Asia Pacific. Flyn has two decades of experience in the aviation and sustainable aviation fuel sectors. Flyn has dedicated his career to building SAF industries in the United States and Australia, having held leadership roles developing waste-to-SAF projects in the United States, and with Qantas where he led the airline’s SAF strategy.

Flyn also Chairs the SAF Alliance of Australia and New Zealand (SAFAANZ), which advocates on behalf of industry for the policy settings needed to support a domestic SAF industry.

Daniel Dott

Daniel Dott, Head of Fuel and Aviation Decarbonisation, Virgin Australia

Daniel has over 20 years of aviation experience including over a decade of experience with conventional and sustainable aviation fuel in a commercial, operational and strategic context. In addition to aviation fuel, Daniel has also been responsible for negotiating airport charges as well as agreements with air navigation and meteorological service providers. Daniel has also been responsible for carbon offset procurement as well as management of voluntary and compliance offsetting schemes.

Since 2021, Daniel has been responsible for all aviation fuel related activities at Virgin Australia, including both the short term operational and longer term commercial and strategic approaches. A key function of this role is taking a holistic approach to fuel management, particularly in the context of aviation decarbonisation.

Daniel holds a Bachelor of Aviation degree in Management and a Master of Commerce in Business Strategy from the University of New South Wales.

Shahana McKenzie

Shahana McKenzie , CEO, Bioenergy Australia

Since joining Bioenergy Australia in 2017 Shahana has led the creation of important industry alliances including the Sustainable Aviation Fuels Alliance of Australia and New Zealand, the Renewable Gas Alliance and the Cleaner Fuels Alliance. She has successfully advocated for Australia’s first Bioenergy Roadmap released by the former Energy and Climate Change Minister Angus Taylor and more recently the creation of a Jet Zero Council for Australia announced by Minister King. Shahana is the creator of the Renewable Gas Challenge charged with replacing 20% of Australia’s domestic gas with renewable sources by 2030. Bioenergy Australia has increased membership by 400% under her tenure and now includes leading domestic and global brands.

Shahana has a reputation for building strong collaborative relationships within industry and government. She previously sat on the ASBEC Cities and Infrastructure taskforces, was a co-convener of the Living Cities Alliance, a member of the Parliamentary Friendship Group for Better Cities, and was invited to sit on the Federal Government’s Cities Reference Group Chaired by the Minister for Cities, Angus Taylor. Listed in The Australian – Black Book of Green People, Shahana founded public campaigns including the Living Cities Alliance, The International Festival of Landscape Architecture, My Park Rules, Parks Changing Australia and KIDSCAPE.
