About this event

From a neuroscientific perspective, how does moving the body help students learn? And what does science have to say about the role of meditation and mindfulness in the classroom?

In this free webinar, CSIRO neuroscientist and TEDx presenter, Dr. Dana Bradford shares perspectives and helpful strategies on movement, and building healthier minds and behaviours for a diverse range of learners.

The session is broken into key topics with opportunities for participants to ask Dr Dana questions.

Topics covered include:

  • the cerebellum: The little brain with big responsibilities
  • strategies to promote brain health
  • the role and effect of movement on the brain’s ability to learn
  • perspectives on mindfulness and meditation in classroom environments
  • techniques for engaging neurotypical and neurodivergent students.

About Dr Dana Bradford

Dr Dana Bradford

Dr Dana Bradford (Dip Pos Psyc & Wellbeing, BSc Hons, PhD Neuroscience) leads the Neurodevelopment and Plasticity team at the Australian eHealth Research Centre. Her work focuses on developing digital services for equitable health care in culturally and neurologically diverse populations and general populations, particularly relating to chronic health, mental health, genomics and aged care.

Dana is passionate about sharing her expertise on neurodevelopment and brain health. She presented at TedX Salon Sydney and regularly presents workshops at STEM conferences.
