Standards Australia and CSIRO’s National AI Centre’s Responsible AI Network are excited to invite you to What is the AI Management System Standard and why do we need it? A training workshop with Standards Australia.

This webinar is the fifth in a series designed to support businesses and industry representatives as they navigate the responsible and ethical use and uptake of AI in Australia.

Event overview

This 60-minute training workshop, hosted by Standards Australia, introduces the newly released AI Management System standard AS ISO/IEC 42001:2023. This standard, a world-first, is designed to guide organisations in the development and deployment of AI technology. Its key benefits will be highlighted during the workshop.

The virtual event will feature a panel of experts who will discuss:

  • General overview of the AS ISO/IEC 42001:2023
  • Why is this standard important from a risk and governance perspective?
  • What are the benefits of AS ISO/IEC 42001:2023?

Speakers include four members of Australia’s AI standards committee:

  • Aurelie Jacquet (Chair of Australia’s AI standards committee and Director at Ethical AI Consulting)
  • Prof Lyria Bennett Moses (Professor in the Faculty of Law and Justice at UNSW Sydney, and Director of the UNSW Allens Hub for Technology Law and Innovation.)
  • Harm Ellens (Director of AI Advisory Services at Virtual Ink Australia)
  • Dr Kobi Leins (Global expert in AI, international law, and governance)

The panel discussion will be followed by a live Q&A.
