We are excited to invite you to the launch of CSIRO's Advanced Engineering Biology Future Science Platform – delivering world-class science to unlock the many benefits of Australia's bioeconomy.
The AEB FSP was recently announced as part of a growing suite of Future Science Platforms at CSIRO – an investment in cutting-edge, transformative research where we push the boundaries of science – and break through seemingly impossible problems.
Engineering biology has transformational potential for society, environments and industry. It has already delivered many benefits and products across healthcare, chemicals, materials, food, agriculture and environmental sectors. Driven by rapid technological developments there is much more that we can do and many more benefits that we can deliver.
At this webinar, you'll hear about the ways the AEB FSP will be working to drive a step-change in engineering biology. We'll share an overview of our research themes, and the ways we are working to deliver new technologies that will accelerate sustainable outcomes for society, environments and industry. You'll also learn how big data and AI can interface with engineering biology to accelerate innovation.
Hear about the exciting potential of engineering biology and our work to underpin industry transitions, improve environmental outcomes, enable circular economies, and deliver positive societal changes.
At this webinar, you'll hear from:
- Dr Jill Freyne, CSIRO Deputy Chief Scientist
- Dr Robert Speight, AEB FSP Director
- Ronnie Guha, Google Cloud
We'll discuss:
- The latest developments in engineering biology and what the future holds at the interface of biology, AI and computer science.
- How CSIRO is working to overcome barriers currently holding us back from engineering biology's potential.
- Our long-term vision for advancing Australia's national capability in engineering biology.
Full agenda to come closer to the date. Please feel free to circulate this invitation among colleagues to whom it might be of interest.
