After 30 months of postponement due to Covid, IMRET16 will take place in Melbourne, Australia from Sunday 27 - Wednesday 30 November 2022 - the first time in the Southern Hemisphere.
The first International Microreaction Technology Conference (IMRET) was held in 1997, more than two decades ago. At the time delegates saw that the technology shares something pivotal, yet lacked imagination how chemistry within dimensions of a hair's diameter can be sufficient for a fully industrial production line.
Many developments in the microreactor and flow chemistry field have taken place since then, new microreactor based pilot & production plants in Asia, and future factories in Europe and USA. Most notably, our technology has become commercial, with pharmaceutical and fine chemical manufacturing already becoming increasingly continuous today and this adoption is estimated to continue in the years to come, accompanying other major changes such as the shift from centralised to decentralised manufacturing, from foreign supply chains to sovereign domestic production and from a fossil fuel based economy to renewables.
