Get involved in a local initiative to inspire and build your workforce of tomorrow
Join us at the virtual workshop to share your local challenges and find out about how you can be involved!
Please note that this event was originally proposed to be a face-to-face activity, however, as per our Covid-19 safety requirements, we have moved to an online format. We thank you for your understanding.
As a valuable member of the Penrith community, you are invited to join us for a virtual workshop to learn about Generation STEM, discuss your ideas on local challenges and find out how you or your organisation can be involved.
The Generation STEM initiative aims to attract, support, retain and train NSW students in STEM and school, into further education and into employment. The first program launched under Generation STEM is the STEM Community Partnerships Program (STEM CPP), where students participate in STEM inquiry based projects to address challenges faced by the local community and are connected to local STEM businesses, providing valuable insight into local STEM pathways.
You are invited to join our virtual workshop on this exciting initiative in its fourth year in the Penrith area. At this workshop we will identify challenges in the Penrith area for students to address in 2022, and present opportunities for you to be involved, including mentoring teachers, hosting site visits, delivering a masterclass or providing work experience opportunities. The time commitment is flexible and there is no cost to participate.
In the previous years, Penrith students developed some innovative solutions to local challenges including city life, green space, water desalination, water and solar energy sources, the ageing population and technology.
The 2019 Showcase video, our 2020 webpage Showcase and information about the 2021 Virtual Showcase can be found at our website.
