Tropical Landscapes Joint Venture Seminar Series

Abstract:

The last 20 years have seen natural resources managed as biophysical entities, through to management of landscapes that recognize the presence, role, activities, aspirations, capacities, and limitations of people. Some evidence exists to suggest that the incorporation of the social sciences into natural resource management is encouraging from a conservation perspective, but there is still some distance to cover. In this presentation, Nadine will explore some of the frontiers in environmental science that she has been involved with, and will discuss some of the opportunities for the future.
