Full Registration includes:

  • Attendance at all Technical and Workshop sessions (22, 23 & 25 July) at Rydges, Townsville
  • Behind-the-scenes evening at Reef HQ, the world's largest living coral reef aquarium

Terms and Conditions of Registration
On behalf of myself and my employer, I confirm:
• that appropriate levels of insurance are in place to cover my participation in the Symposium and all related activities (including but not limited to travel, tours of premises, meals, field trips and snorkelling (if attended) (Activities)). The insurance includes coverage for injury, illness and death and property damage and loss.
• and acknowledge that the role of CSIRO and the organising committee is limited to that of facilitating the Symposium at venues and locations that are outside of the direct control of CSIRO.
• that my travel to and from, and participation in, the Symposium and all Activities is entirely at my own risk.
• and agree that, to the maximum extent permitted by law, CSIRO excludes and disclaims all liability to any persons arising directly or indirectly out of any person's participation in the Symposium and the Activities.
• and agree to indemnify and release CSIRO and the organising committee against all claims, demands, suits, liability, loss or expense arising directly or indirectly from my participation in the Symposium and all Activities.

Registration to this event also confirms your acceptance of these terms and conditions:
1) PAYMENT OF REGISTRATION FEES
All accounts must be paid in full prior to the Conference. Earlybird Registration fee will be available until 3 May 2019. Payment for Earlybird Registrations MUST be received by 1700 on or before 3 May 2019. After this date the Earlybird rate expires and the Standard rate will be applied automatically to all unpaid registrations.
2) CANCELLATION OF REGISTRATION
We hope that you will not have to cancel your registration, however, should this be necessary cancellations must be notified in writing to the Conference Secretariat 8ISGE@csiro.au. Cancellations received prior to 17 June 2019 will receive a full refund less $200 administration charge. Refunds for cancellations received after 10 June 2019 will only be made in exceptional circumstances. If you are unable to attend, a substitute is welcome at no extra charge. Please advise the Conference Secretariat of the details of the substitute delegate in writing.
3) CONFIRMATION OF REGISTRATION/TAX INVOICE
Once you have completed the online registration form you will receive a confirmation email. Please note that the email confirmation will be sent to the email address entered when registering for the conference. This confirmation email will include your tax invoice.
4) PRIVACY Information collected as part of the conference registration process is owned by the Conference Organising Committee. We only access information that you voluntarily give us. We will not provide this information to any third party, other than as necessary to fulfil your request (such as tour providers).

    Retiree rate applies to unwaged retirees, no longer employed in their field. To receive the retiree rate, you will be requested to provide a letter from your affiliated institution to verify your eligibility by email.

Day trip to the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS), 30 places available
Half Day Trip inclusions:

  • Departing Rydges Southbank at 8.30am and returning about 2pm
  • Tea and coffee on arrival
  • Tour of AIMS - including presentations on AIMS’ current research and a guided walk around the facilities, including a tour of the ‘world’s smartest aquarium’, the National Sea Simulator

Day Trip – Coral Reef Snorkelling, 13 places

Head out on a day safari to Pelorus and Orpheus Islands. And on the way home, stop over at the Frosty Mango for some famous ice cream.
Day Trip inclusions:

  • Full day trip departing at 6am and returning about 5pm
  • 2 dives or unlimited snorkelling the inner and middle reefs
  • Equipment
  • All EMC’s (Environmental Management Charges) and Mooring fees
  • Learning about the reef eco system
  • Tropical lunch and beverages
  • Demonstrations and instructions on Snorkeling techniques
  • Experienced, professional, fun and safe crew with a passion for the marine environment

Post Conference Lower Burdekin and Bowen River Gully Field Trip
2 Day trip inclusions:

  • Departing Friday 7.15am for a 2 day Field Trip to Lower Burdekin and Bowen River gully research and remediation sites
  • Visit one of the gully erosion hotspots of the Great Barrier Reef catchments
  • Trip departs Townsville and includes all meals, transportation and accommodation (outback Australian style) at the Bowen River Hotel. (see flyer for more information)
